Positive: Item was shown with detail through pictures. No issues with purchase. Con: Paid priority shipping for an empty box. Could have gone with cheaper/ slower shipping method relative to cost of item. Not a bad remark against seller just personal opinion. Would buy from seller again.

    Too old not supported

Purchased a used unit it works well, but touch screen does not always respond to input. Old maps Magellan no longer supports it and pulled software drivers/updatges from their inventory.

  • Good value for a reliable product.

Overall a good purchase. Pros: Auto-complete suggestions to fill in suggestions for towns, street names, and addresses saves time with entering the full name and helps ensure accuracy. Hasn't gotten me lost, told me "re-routing", lost signal, or told me to "turn right now!" without advance notice. Fairly easy to figure out, even without a manual. Cons: Has taken me on some different routes than what I would have taken. I'm not sure that those routes were really faster, but it got me where I wanted to go anyway, so I can't really complain too much about the change of scenery. Requires a somewhat firm pressure on the screen to select options. It isn't horrible and I am probably spoiled from using smartphones, but it is noticeable. This isn't an overly fancy GPS, but it has proven to be ...

  • Awesome Magellan Maestro 4700

Everything about the Magellan is Great. I had an older version which I sold on Ebay because of outdated maps and purchased a Garmin for couple of their slick and catchy features. With couple trips on the Garmin I was dying to get back on the Magellan Side. The one Feature that Magellan has and I Love more than Anything is Routing with the option of using Most Use of Freeways for your trip. Sometimes I down right felt like Stopping the Car, Taking out the Garmin, and Smashing it into tiny Pieces!!!! Oh Yeah, the MM 4700 has an option to view in 3D, Really Cool when your around tall buildings. Battery Life could of been Better though, only around 3 Hours. Hope this Helps ;-)

  • Good - but recommend looking elsewhere

After trying two other brands GPS', I decided to try out the Magellan Maestro 4700 for three reasons: (1) Consumer Reports rated this one very high, (2) combines "predicted" and current traffic monitoring to insure the quickest route possible, and (3) previous satisfaction with the "NeverLost" (made by Magellan) in Hertz rental cars. Setup was fairly easy. It quickly acquired GPS satellites - even inside my home. It was quick to figure navigation to a desired point. Voice was natural and easily understood. In route it did a great job at following turns, splits and exits. However, for two reasons, I did not keep it: (1) There is no "master" button to return to the main menu which means you have to click on "back" through all the previous screens to get back to the main menu - ...

  • one great feature can"t skip

i like tat you can avoid part of route great feature when traffic etc. but actual movement is not as sharp as garmin so if someone does not need this feature go with garmin but as a rule it's a very important feature for example the gps sends you to g.w. bridge but it's closed and you don't know how to get around to a other bridge then your doomed the gps wont help you out because as long as your closer to the g.w. bridge it will send you back to the closer bridge but if you have this feature you just tell the gps to avoid the g.w. bridge on your set to go!!!!!!!!!!1
